Tumbleweed Soul

Hey Friends!

Now that I’ve learned how to categorize what I’m blogging (see the links in the menu section…examples: Travel, Brasil, Current reads). I’ve decided to change the URL from alethainbrasil to tumbleweedsoulss.

The title Tumbleweed Soul comes from one of my favorite song lyrics in “Bury Me in Blue Jeans” by Granger Smith.

“Got the roots of an oak and a tumbleweed soul.”

These lines always hit me right at my core. I’ve been blessed to have extremely strong roots where I lived for the first 18 years of my life and where my home will forever be, but through books and a developing desire to travel and experience and the fact that I was born with the restless gypsy soul of my truck driving father, I feel like it defines exactly how I am.

I should have started documenting this all together a long time ago, all the moves, all the road trips, all of the adventures, but I only finally got it in my head to do it now.

In hopes of consolidating places where you can find my diary-like blogs I have added a link to my time as a Brasil RYE student, my time living in Venezuela, as well as my current book blog.

As my time in Brasil is ending in 3 months, I figured now would be a good time to start shifting the purpose from this blog from purely Brasil based to that of endless adventure documenting possibilities.

Hopefully you enjoy whatever craziness comes my way!
